Fredrik Kayser (1924-1968) was an outstanding furniture designer in the Scandinavian Design period in the 1950s / 60s. His furniture was characterized by elegant design and material sensitivity. Several of his furniture has long gone into the design history.
In the period 1952 to 1956, Kayser again worked for Rastad & Relling. During this time he designed the classic Cross chair (1955), which was produced by Gustav Bahus Eftf. The most distinctive of this is the front and back of the chair, which is shaped like a cross. In the intersection it is joined by four darker wooden plugs that in a refined way emphasize the construction.
