Pair of really beautiful hand hammered brass Wall Sconces with shell shaped lampshades by Designer Lars Holmström, Arvika - Sweden. Produced in the 1950's. The Brass shades has a nice shape of a shell and deliveres a warm light and shine. Original stamp and label. Takes a 60w maximum european bulb. H30 cm x W19 cm x D9cm.
Lars August Holmström, born 1894 in Gävleborg County, died in Båstad. Swedish artsmith from Sweden.Lars has made luminaire and sacred vessels for many churches, including in Gothenburg, Kalmar, Stockholm, Uppsala as well as to no less than 57 churches in Värmland. In 1925. Lars Holmström participated in the Paris Exhibition and hit there with candlesticks and chandeliers and also with silver work. He is mentioned in French art magazines, where his work is referred to as masterpiece of art.
