Pair of blue stone vintage silver earrings by Asp AB, Sweden 1971

Beautiful blue vintage 'Bergslagen stone' ear rings by Asp AB Gustaf, Hedemora 1971. Sweden. These beautiful stones has various shades of blue color and are originally the "leftovers" or slag which is a residual product of the iron production. This has been used in Sweden since the 18th -9th centuries. The slag floats on top of the melt and is discharged from the blast furnace before the metal. The slag comes in all kinds of colors and structures. The color can change from light blue over clear blue and dark blue via green to black. 

Quite unique pair of midcentury ear rings in a very good vintage condition. Size: 1,7 cm x  1,4 cm x 1,6 cmD. Height of stone: 0,7 cmH.
