Eisenacher Motorenwerk was an iteration of the 'VEB Automobile Work Eisenach' company which operated in central Germany for almost 100 years from 1896, when it was founded by the father and son partnership of Heinrich and Gustave Ehrhardt. Having initially supplied the Prussian military, production quickly expanded to include bicycle and early 'Wartburg' motor vehicles.
