This is a very special brasspendant with integrated beautiful nature stones from the Norwegian fauna. Lovely Scandinavian modern design necklace by Norwegian silversmith Anna Greta Eker. Norway 1960`s. This wonderful vintage necklace has stringes of brass layers and inbetween these are colorful stones. Nice piece of art! Marked with her stamp AGEker.
Measures: Pendant width: ca 4,8 cm. depth: 1,1 cm. height: 7 cm. Chain: 66 cmL total lenght.

Anna Greta Eker was born in Mariehamn, Finland in 1926 and moved to Norway in the 1950s where she married Erling Christofferson, the leader of PLUS in Fredrikstad. PLUS operated 1958 to 1978 and was a colony of designers. They produced silver, baskets, furniture and pottery and their work was renowned for its quality and superb Scandinavian modern design. Anna Greta Eker was an important designer of the 1960s Norwegian and a key figure in the PLUS organisation. Most of Eker’s jewellery featured the geometric and organic forms typical of the 60s. When jewellery production at PLUS came to an end in the late 70s  Eker started up her own workshop using her artist name ‘AGE’ as her hallmark.
